Sustaining Membership

Dear Friends,

The Board of The Community Foundation would like to personally invite you to join the growing number of people who want to make the greatest impact in diverse areas of need in our region by becoming a Sustaining Member. Through your membership, The Community Foundation’s Undesignated Community Endowment fund will grow and be used to help strengthen our communities.

In 2001, our Undesignated Community Endowment grants provided life-sustaining prescriptions to those who cannot afford them. We were able to fund an innovative project to provide “transitional living services” to youth who needed the skills to become self-sufficient and independent after leaving foster care because they were too old for the system, but too young to have the life experiences necessary to live independently. In 2002, The Foundation awarded a grant to a high school in Washington County to fund a project that promoted understanding and positive relationships among people of different backgrounds. We were also able through RIF to provide 1,500 at-risk pre-school children across Southwest Alabama with three books of their own to take home to encourage families to prepare their children for kindergarten ready to learn.

Here is your chance to make a lasting difference in the future of our communities. Please become a Sustaining Member by making a tax-deductible contribution today. Your support will be placed in the Undesignated Community Endowment fund that is creating a ripple of good will and perpetual financial support for many of the regions most needy.

Thank you for your support and we will look forward to having you join a group of dedicated citizens who want to keep giving back to the community.
