Speakers from The University of South Alabama included Andrea Wright, Paula Webb and Angela Rand. For information about future conferences and classes visit www.usabaldwincounty.org.

The timing was perfect for the VISTA members to learn how to use these valuable tools because construction of the South Alabama Community Network has begun. This “Network” will use social networking to bring together people with an interest in building a stronger community.

Earlier this year, the Corporation for National and Community Service approved the South Alabama Community Network as an AmeriCorps VISTA project. VISTA members are assisting with community outreach on behalf of the South Alabama Community Network.

Organizations and citizens will be able to add content via a web browser to a database that will serve as an information clearing house for South Alabama. The network will promote community driven information and knowledge that can be used to understand issues and identify solutions to solve community issues.

The South Alabama Community Network is a project of The Community Foundation of South Alabama. The future home of the network will be www.SouthAlabamaCommunityNetwork.com.

Connect with the South Alabama Community Network on Facebook.
